On 21 May 2026, Ertzaintza arrested a man in Azpeitia with 110,000 digital files containing child sexual abuse material, thus the priorities we work for most actively, and encourage others to work towards:
- The protection of victims.
- Support for those who stand by and protect victims, which requires the eradication of Isolating Gender Violence exercised against them.
- The rejection of messages spread through media and social networks that prioritize audiences and “likes,” using victims and those who protect them for that purpose.
- The rejection of messages in media and social networks that stigmatize such an extraordinary town as Azpeitia by associating its name with a crime, when in fact it has demonstrated solidarity by reporting this case, which affects children from different parts of the world.
- The promotion of sexual and affective education based on scientific evidence of social impact, which has been shown to contribute to overcoming this problem, rather than on hoaxes and misinformation that worsen it.
